It can be for purpose of Administration, 1 person controlling all PC%26#039;s of one company, doing updates, software repair, installations etc. Cost, it depends on the size of the company.

2. Web hosting. Server with a lot of power and space, renting out space for people to host there Websites from. Cost. If you do it yourself, a lot of money, big project. There are many Hosting companies that do sell web hosting programs, for you to sell it again to other people, search Web Hosting, dedicated servers.

The run of the mill services are fairly competitive

It may be marketing - that is for the same price one has services - that meet certain needs

For example for the same money one service may allow less space ( more than you need) and as many add on domains as you want while another may give you one domain but tons of space

The average web space hosted is only 100 mb or so

Call the toll free number of the company to see how fast they answer the phone

How often they do back ups if often a good question and marker of service levels

I use a number of hosting companies

None are bad.

( I take that back. One british based company is abysmal.
