Search engine help: Our products with two words in their names aren't being found by search eng

Our company website has many product pages. When customers search for the products with two words in their name our site isn%26#039;t included in search results. How do I get the search engines to pick up the products with two words in their name and show our site in search results? We used the free submission from Yahoo and are paying for their Web Hosting product.

Search engine help: Our products with two words in their names aren%26#039;t being found by search engines.?

- I have been studying SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for the last (2) months, I bet I have looked at more pages then some people who do it professionally, You should read Google%26#039;s take on it! - They have a page up on it that basically says it can%26#039;t be done legit. They are very wary of scammers-

I built personally www.bishamon-pallet-jack.com a very small market product, I mean How many folks are looking for a pallet jack? especially a 489$ one!? - so the point you have to pick your keywords, Our were Bishamon Pallet Jack, focused on Bishamon which is our %26quot;Niche%26quot; - Next I started studying you can do some good stuff in hours using www.seochat.com - But be weary of %26quot;Black hat%26quot; techniques - These will get your site banned. - If you search %26quot; Bishamon Jack %26quot; without the quotation marks , we are #1 on google, this has resulted in around 4k$ in sales this week. You can learn alot about webpage design on www.webpagesthatsuck.com .... This guy is a genuis.

- Sorry this answer is all over the place. If you would like me to take a look at your site email, my email is my nickname @yahoo.com - Later, Richard BOwles

Search engine help: Our products with two words in their names aren%26#039;t being found by search engines.?

As anyone with a Web site knows, you need to appear in search results to get visitors to the site. And, the higher up in the search results, the better. That%26#039;s because most surfers don%26#039;t make it past the first page of search results.

The process of getting a good ranking in search results is called search engine optimization (SEO). Many people, even experienced techies, misunderstand SEO, or consider it hocus-pocus.

Over the years, many people have sought to manipulate search sites%26#039; results so their pages appear high in the rankings. This often involved trickery. Search sites try to weed out sites that use these tactics.

So, what can you do to get a good ranking?

First, you need to consider the search terms you will target. Start by picking five relevant terms. Overture has a tool that will show you the popularity of a given term. It will help you pick out alternative terms.

Be realistic. With really popular terms, it may be impossibly difficult to get a good ranking. So pick moderately popular terms.

Now, pick five pages from your site. Each should be related to one of the terms. Focus on writing clear, concise content that uses the term throughout the page. The idea is to achieve good keyword density.

But don%26#039;t overdo it. Otherwise, search sites will think you%26#039;re %26quot;keyword stuffing.%26quot; This is when you cram words into a page. Search sites flag this as trickery.

Next, find reputable sites that are related to yours. Speak with the owners and ask if they will link to your site. They may ask to exchange links. The more inbound links to your site, the easier it is for search sites to find you.

Each link coming into your site is akin to a vote for its credibility. But you want these votes to come from legitimate sites. Link farms, or sites that serve no other purpose than to list links, are bad news.

These are the best ways to build traffic to your site. Keep in mind that it may take several months to see results. In the interim, you may wish to consider online advertising, if your budget allows it.

Easiest way to post text on a new website?

I just registered my domain and purchased web hosting. But I don%26#039;t know the first thing about HTML! I just want a site with basic text-- and maybe the occasional photo or link.

What%26#039;s the easiest way to do this for someone with no programming knowledge?

Good plan... search download.com for HTML editors. That would be the easiest way... WYSIWYG

閳?Here are examples that you can experiment right on the web site. Even though you can experiment here you cannot save the results to your computer unless you copy and paste the code into windows notepad and save it that way.

閳?Don%26#039;t be surprised if you don%26#039;t learn HTML/CSS very fast. Most of us took years to learn to use it proficiently. Even now after 10 years I still don%26#039;t know it all since it keeps changing all the time.

閳?After you have experimented some on that site then do the following.

======================================...

閳?ALWAYS CHECK THE REFERENCE PAGES TO MAKE CERTAIN YOU ARE WRITING YOUR SOURCE CODE THE CORRECT WAY! JUST BECAUSE YOU SAW SOME SOURCE CODE WRITTEN A PARTICULAR WAY IN SOMEONE ELSE%26#039;S PAGE DOESN%26#039;T MEAN THEY WROTE IT CORRECTLY. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT YOU%26#039;LL FIND THAT THEY DIDN%26#039;T WRITE IT CORRECTLY. BUT LOOKING AT OTHER PEOPLE%26#039;S SOURCE CODE IS STILL A GOOD WAY TO LEARN. IF SOURCE CODE ISN%26#039;T WRITTEN THE CORRECT WAY IT CAN CAUSE OBJECTS TO BE DISPLAYED IN PLACES YOU DON%26quot;T WANT THEM IN OR EVEN CRASH SOMEONE%26#039;S BROWSER. NETSCAPOE 4.X USERS ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE TO CRASHING. MOST OF THE TIME BROWSERS A VERY FORGIVING WHEN IT COMES TO BAD SOURCE CODE. BUT WHY TAKE CHANCES. THE MORE CORRECTLY YOU WRITE YOUR PAGES THE MOER BROWSERS THEY WILL WORK WITH.

閳?FREE! FTP Clients (applications):

閳?http://www.trustmeher.net/freeware/cute....

閳?You%26#039;ll find hundreds of free online web tools here http://dwight.clickthesky.com/webtools/ Use them to generate HTML/CSS/JavaScript source code for you then simply paste it into your pages. There are also Banner makers, site maintenance utilities and many many more.

閳?NOTE: Free web-based FTP for people that aren%26#039;t using their own computer or don%26#039;t want to install a ftp client on their computer. I use this wonderful utility nearly everyday. You can do everything with this client that you can do with an installed one. There are two modes, secure server and non-secure server. I prefer the secure server. This is a Java Applet so you%26#039;ll need Java installed on your computer to use it. Most PCs come with it pre-installed.

閳?Unlimited FTP https://www.unlimitedftp.ca/myftp/

閳?When FTPing files from your computer to your online account send text files, HTML/XHTML files, CSS files in the ascii mode. Send image files, movie files, music files in the binary mode. There is an automatic mode that is supposed to detect the type of file you are sending. But it isn%26#039;t always reliable.

*** HERE IS HOW I LEARNED HTML/XHTML/CSS ***

閳?When you come to a page on the web click %26quot;VIEW%26quot; at the top of your browser and click on %26quot;SOURCE%26quot;. If you are using Internet Explorer browser the HTML source code will open up in Windows Notepad. In Notepad click on %26quot;FILE/SAVE AS%26quot; to save the page%26#039;s source code to your hard drive. In Internet Explorer click on %26quot;FILE/OPEN%26quot; to open the source code in the browser. Go back to notepad and remove some of the code and click %26quot;SAVE%26quot;. Then in Internet Explorer hold down the %26quot;SHIFT%26quot; key and click on the %26quot;REFRESH%26quot; button on the browser%26#039;s toolbar to see what effect the removed source code had on the page. You will learn a hundred times faster this way.

閳?Something to think about later is.......After you have gotten a little experience with HTML try DOCTYPE, XHTML, and CSS. Then try to validate your pages. Validating checks your source code for coding errors. validating will not work unless you are using the correct doctype and the correct document encoding. Validating is not something a newcomer should bother with. Being new you will make lots of mistakes and won%26#039;t know how to fix them yet. http://validator.w3.org/

閳?Many libraries world-wide have books related to the Internet, Web and computers in general. They also have CDs and DVDs. Go to your local public library and get the username and password for http://www.firstsearch.org/ You have to get them at your library because that is where you will pick up and return the books after reading them. You can look up the book yourself but they will have to order it for you. Sometimes this can take awhile if the book is checked out by someone else. After reading the books and making copies of certain pages with a photo copier simply return it to them.

閳?By using Firstsearch you can search for any book in the world. Some libraries might charge a small fee but most are free. Even if they charge a fee it will be less than the cost of the book or other item you are ordering. Every Web Design book I have read was acquired in this fashion. :)

Other Replys:Who is hosting your site? A lot of hosts now have online editors where you can use your own html or use one of their templates. I%26#039;m on Angelfire and the online editor is very easy. There are basic html scripts all over the web, just search html. Also the html for dummies book is very good.

If you put your cursor over any page and right click, there will be View Source in the box. Click it. Another box will come up showing you all the code that went into creating that page.

This is a good place to begin:

Other Replys:From the view point of a MCP, I think you should get your hands on Microsoft Office, no later then office XP, in it, you shall find a copy of Microsoft Frontpage, a pretty stright foward web page editor, it also has publishing features, in a WYSIWUG (what you see is what you get) interface. However, if your new to html, you really pretty much do not have to know jack about html anymore. To get a good looking site. You just need a pretty advrage web buliding software.... I use Macromedia (now Adobe) DreamWeaver, its really the top end as far as web buliding softwares go, however, like I said, Microsoft FrontPage does a NICE NICE job! the publishing aspect is WAY EASY... go to file, publish, and then you type in your web sites name... www.whatever.com and then your password. and then depending on your connection Volia%26#039; your on! Its that easy muh%26#039;man. However, if the provider does not have front page extentions, (wich some smaller providers do not put on) you can call them up and say install my extentions!! and they will do it. (For free). .hope this helps you out

What are the prerequisites of a Virtual Private Network? How do I actually go about installating a V

If I don%26#039;t have a fixed IP address, can I still install a VPN? I have website via a web hosting company. To run a WAN application, do I have to install the shared files at the website?

What are the prerequisites of a Virtual Private Network? How do I actually go about installating a VPN?

How stuff works has a good article describing the basics of how Virtual Private Networks work. Basically you need to get yourself a router, once you have selected one you follow the directions that come with the router and set it up to share your connection to the internet with all computers in the house and then set up your computers to see each other.

It is not as difficult as it sounds, and the router directions are fairly simple.

Good luck :-)
