Search engine help: Our products with two words in their names aren't being found by search eng

Our company website has many product pages. When customers search for the products with two words in their name our site isn%26#039;t included in search results. How do I get the search engines to pick up the products with two words in their name and show our site in search results? We used the free submission from Yahoo and are paying for their Web Hosting product.

- I have been studying SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for the last (2) months, I bet I have looked at more pages then some people who do it professionally, You should read Google%26#039;s take on it! - They have a page up on it that basically says it can%26#039;t be done legit. They are very wary of scammers-

I built personally www.bishamon-pallet-jack.com a very small market product, I mean How many folks are looking for a pallet jack? especially a 489$ one!? - so the point you have to pick your keywords, Our were Bishamon Pallet Jack, focused on Bishamon which is our %26quot;Niche%26quot; - Next I started studying you can do some good stuff in hours using www.seochat.com - But be weary of %26quot;Black hat%26quot; techniques - These will get your site banned. - If you search %26quot; Bishamon Jack %26quot; without the quotation marks , we are #1 on google, this has resulted in around 4k$ in sales this week. You can learn alot about webpage design on www.webpagesthatsuck.com .... This guy is a genuis.

- Sorry this answer is all over the place. If you would like me to take a look at your site email, my email is my nickname @yahoo.com - Later, Richard BOwles

As anyone with a Web site knows, you need to appear in search results to get visitors to the site. And, the higher up in the search results, the better. That%26#039;s because most surfers don%26#039;t make it past the first page of search results.

The process of getting a good ranking in search results is called search engine optimization (SEO). Many people, even experienced techies, misunderstand SEO, or consider it hocus-pocus.

Over the years, many people have sought to manipulate search sites%26#039; results so their pages appear high in the rankings. This often involved trickery. Search sites try to weed out sites that use these tactics.

So, what can you do to get a good ranking?

First, you need to consider the search terms you will target. Start by picking five relevant terms. Overture has a tool that will show you the popularity of a given term. It will help you pick out alternative terms.

Be realistic. With really popular terms, it may be impossibly difficult to get a good ranking. So pick moderately popular terms.

Now, pick five pages from your site. Each should be related to one of the terms. Focus on writing clear, concise content that uses the term throughout the page. The idea is to achieve good keyword density.

But don%26#039;t overdo it. Otherwise, search sites will think you%26#039;re %26quot;keyword stuffing.%26quot; This is when you cram words into a page. Search sites flag this as trickery.

Next, find reputable sites that are related to yours. Speak with the owners and ask if they will link to your site. They may ask to exchange links. The more inbound links to your site, the easier it is for search sites to find you.

Each link coming into your site is akin to a vote for its credibility. But you want these votes to come from legitimate sites. Link farms, or sites that serve no other purpose than to list links, are bad news.

These are the best ways to build traffic to your site. Keep in mind that it may take several months to see results. In the interim, you may wish to consider online advertising, if your budget allows it.
