One domain, multiple hosts?

Hi, I have an internet domain e.g. www.example.com, I am currently with a web host that does not provide a mysql database.

Is it possible to subscribe to another host, with mysql, and use both hosts simultaniously with the same domain?

This won%26#039;t work if you want both of them to be exactly the same domain like www.example.com. It will work if you%26#039;re willing to use separate subdomains like host1.example.com and host2.example.com.

Yes one answer is to use another domain name on host 2 and set it to redirect to domain on host 1. Or just transfer your domain name to the new host and forget about the 1st one. ..........On 2nd thought if you need a mysql database chances are you need to run a script. Just transfer you domain to the sever that has the mysql database. You could use the 1st server with a new domain name to point to example.com (for example a blog will do) to gain backlinks.

if its say host a forum then Yest it can work. all you need to do is point the forum to the sql database on another host.

best idea is to find another host that does sql and hosting and then repoint your domain to their servers . ( my domain is held in one place but points to anohter hosts DNS servers.

Other Replys:If your hosting company does not allow database you will have to move the domain elsewhere, it is faster and more secure to have the database on the same machine anyway.

Other Replys:Try to make things simple. Just transfer all the data files to new host as your current host is not providing mysql which is the basic requirement.
