Am starting my own website in future - questions about domain / building actual site?

I want to start a website in next year - want to buy the domain name now at least, to %26quot;hold%26quot; it. Wondering though - after doing that, can I, at any point, buy a %26quot;Web hosting starter%26quot; package and just pay extra each month? OR is it easier just to bite the bullet and buy the web hosting package NOW and build my website later....I want to make sure it si the easiest process possible as it%26#039;s all new to me.

You can definitely buy the domain now (or somebody might beat you to it) and hold it until you are ready to start your website

You don%26#039;t have to buy a web hosting package now if you have NOTHING to put on it. It%26#039;s one thing to pay $8.99/year for the domain, and another to pay $24.99/month for a web hosting package that is not used

Get a web host IF AND ONLY IF you are ready to start your website. It doesn%26#039;t make sense to get a web host and waste money when you have nothing to put in there.

As long as you pay for the domain name when it expires -- e.g. if you paid yearly or pay for the domain for 10 years -- then it is yours. Be sure that when the domain is about to expire (or your year is up) renew the domain so that no one can take it away from you. Report It

Other Replys:And yes, even if you bought the domain from Yahoo, you can use any other web hosting company to host your website. Report It

Other Replys:Buy the domain now, and the hosting package when you%26#039;re ready to set it up. Also, remember you can buy hosting at a site other than where your domain is registered, and probably save a little money.
