I have Imy email configured as an IMAP setup on microsoft outlook 2003. My questions is this: When I delete a message in outlook, it only puts a line through it, but doesnt actually delete it. The only way it is removed from my inbox is when I logged into to my web hosting account, and access my webmail. Is there a way to setup outlook so when I delete a message there, it automatically erases it (instead of just putting the line through it).
IMAP Email Question?
You have to purge deleted messages.
Click Edit then Purge Deleted Messages.
If you want it on your toolbar:
Click View %26gt; Toolbars %26gt; Customize
Choose the Commands tab and click on the Edit Category.
Scroll down the commands list and select Purge Deleted Messages.
Click and drag the Purge Deleted Messages button to the toolbar at the top of the screen and drop it next to the Delete button (Or wherever you want it)
You can hide deleted emails, but you still need to purge them to remove them permanently.
To hide these deleted emails, click View %26gt; Arrange By %26gt; Current View %26gt; Hide Messages Marked For Deletion
