Training of new employee?

I have been with the current company for nine years now and am about to turn in my two week notice. Am I going to be responsible for training my replacement in areas in which I have never been trained? Over the years I have taught myself everything I know and I don%26#039;t see why I should pass that on to the new person since my employer never compensated me for extra time and effort I put into learning new things (web design, graphic design, web hosting etc.) I feel that I should only have to train in areas that I was initially trained in by current office manager. What are your thoughts on that and .... what am I ethically obligated to do?

Training of new employee?

You are only obligated to train what is in the Job description of that job. Your being paid to train them, and they are getting paid to learn.

On the side: Its always good to leave any company on a high note, you never know when you might need something later down the road.

I very much agree that you should ONLY have to train in the areas that your current office manager trained you. I%26#039;ve been there and know exactly where you%26#039;re coming from.

Other Replys:You are only ethically obligated to train your replacement on the job they are taking over. What is their job title going to be? What was your job title, and job description? When training this new person just worry about job description, anything else is entirely not your responsibility.
