I am new to web-hosting and have a neat web analyzer tool. However, I am confused as to why there are multiple %26quot;visitors%26quot; listed from the same IP address. I thought that was a unique indentifier. Are they the same visitors looking at the site more than once?
If there are multiple hits from the same IP address, are those all the same person?
Usally it means it%26#039;s the same person, but sometimes a network has a router witch converts it all to the same IP address. So it may be the same visitor or different people on the same network.

No two IP adresses are alike. If you see more than one hit from the same IP adress then it is the same person.
Other Replys:the IP you see may be a single user or a gateway from a corporate site. if its the latter, then you may have many people accessing your site from that network gateway
Other Replys:It could be from a network of users that have the same IP address, like a business with many computers and only one internet connection.
Other Replys:Multiple people behind a router using the same wireless network will show up as a single IP address.
Other Replys:i AGREE with redsoxer. An IP Address can represent a single computer, gateway, router, access point, proxy server and probably more.
Other Replys:No, it can be many person in a same company that use a same gateway
Other Replys:Yes. But, no sane person sends multiple %26#039;hits%26#039;, so it is a bad vibe that is %26#039;hammering%26#039; you!!! Perhaps, karma?
Behind a hardware firewall ( http://ipcop.org ) and running http://pclinuxos.com is a fairly secure place to be... plus, there are 5480 games, programs, applications, suites...
