I don%26#039;t have any idea what this means. I was going to purchase a web-hosting package %26amp; it said Linux or Windows?? I usually work from a Mac (w/ Intel) so I would assume not windows, but sometimes I work from a PC with windows also. What do I need? Please hlep!!
Linux or Windows?? What does my site need?
When a web hosting company asks you if you want Linux or Windows, what they are asking is do you want the server that your site will be hosted on to be running Windows or Linux. The biggest difference between the 2 is that Windows has some of scripting features that Linux does not and the other way around, Linux has some scripting features that Windows does not. You are pretty much better off just going with the cheaper of the 2. If they are both the same price then its your choice. I usually stick with Linux when given the choice.

For longest uptime, i say use linux.
It is far more stable, has more functionality, less likely to crash and is cheaper.
